Ingredients
  • 1 jar (16 oz) grape vine leaves, rinsed
  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup pine nuts or walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup fresh dill, mint, and parsley, chopped
  • ⅓ cup olive oil (divided)
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Salt, pepper, and 1 tsp allspice
Instructions
  1. 1Sauté onion in 2 tbsp olive oil. Mix with uncooked rice, herbs, nuts, spices, salt, pepper, and half the lemon juice.
  2. 2Place 1 tbsp filling on each vine leaf, fold sides and roll tightly.
  3. 3Arrange rolls tightly in a pot. Drizzle with remaining olive oil and lemon juice. Add water to cover.
