Ingredients
  • 1 cup toor dal (pigeon peas), rinsed
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, 1–2 green chilies
  • ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp cumin, ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp jaggery or sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp ghee, curry leaves, salt
Instructions
  1. 1Pressure cook dal with turmeric and salt until soft. Mash lightly.
  2. 2Heat ghee, add mustard, cumin, curry leaves, ginger, chilies, and tomato.
  3. 3Add to dal with jaggery and lemon. Simmer 5–7 min.
  4. 4Serve with rice and sabzi.
