Indian Style Raw Banana Curry (Kachay Kele) — a healthy halal vegetarian recipe with 190 calories and 4g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 3-4 raw green bananas (plantains), peeled and cubed
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion chopped, 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp coriander, 1/2 tsp garam masala, chili powder
- 2 tbsp oil, salt, cilantro
Instructions
- 1Soak banana cubes in water with turmeric to prevent browning.
- 2Heat oil, add cumin. Sauté onion, ginger-garlic, tomato and spices.
- 3Drain bananas, add to pan with little water. Cover and cook until soft (12-15 min).
- 4Gently mash some pieces. Garnish with cilantro.
