Indian Style Paneer Pulao (Aromatic Rice) — a healthy vegetarian halal recipe with 420 calories and 14g protein per serving.

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups basmati rice, rinsed and soaked 20 min
  • 250g paneer, cubed
  • 1 onion, sliced + 1 carrot, ½ cup peas
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, 4 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 green cardamom
  • 2 tbsp ghee, salt, fresh mint and cilantro
Instructions
  1. 1Lightly fry paneer cubes and set aside.
  2. 2Heat ghee, sauté onion until golden. Add whole spices and vegetables; stir 3 min.
  3. 3Add drained rice and sauté 2 min. Pour in 3 cups water and salt. Bring to boil.
  4. 4Cover and cook on low 15 min. Gently mix in paneer and herbs. Rest 5 min before serving.
