Ingredients
  • ¾ cup yellow moong dal, rinsed
  • 1 carrot, 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, pinch asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp ghee, salt, fresh cilantro, lemon
Instructions
  1. 1Cook dal with turmeric, ginger, and vegetables in 4 cups water until very soft. Mash lightly.
  2. 2Heat ghee, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Pour tadka into soup.
  3. 3Simmer 5 min. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
  4. 4Garnish with cilantro and lemon juice. Serve warm.
