Ingredients
  • ¼ cup each: moong dal, masoor dal, toor dal, chana dal, urad dal (total 1¼ cups)
  • 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp garam masala, chili powder
  • 3 tbsp ghee or oil, fresh cilantro
Instructions
  1. 1Rinse and pressure cook mixed dals with turmeric and salt until soft.
  2. 2Heat ghee, add cumin, onion, ginger-garlic, tomatoes, and spices. Cook until oil separates.
  3. 3Mix tadka into cooked dal. Simmer 8–10 min. Adjust consistency with water.
  4. 4Garnish with cilantro. Serve with rice or roti.
