Ingredients
- 4 cups grated lauki (bottle gourd), squeezed
- 2 cups milk or almond milk
- ½ cup sugar or jaggery
- 3 tbsp ghee
- ½ tsp cardamom powder, 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
- Pinch saffron (optional)
Instructions
- 1Heat ghee, add grated lauki and sauté 8–10 min until moisture reduces.
- 2Add milk and cook on medium, stirring often, until thick (15–20 min).
- 3Add sugar/jaggery and cardamom. Cook until halwa leaves sides of pan.
- 4Garnish with nuts and saffron. Serve warm.
