Indian Style Dal Fry (Restaurant Style Tadka) — a healthy vegetarian halal recipe with 230 calories and 11g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mixed dal (moong + masoor) or toor dal, cooked
- 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp garam masala, chili powder
- 3 tbsp ghee or oil, garlic slices, dried red chilies, cilantro
Instructions
- 1Mash cooked dal slightly.
- 2Heat ghee, sauté onion, ginger-garlic, tomatoes, and spices until oil separates.
- 3Add to dal and simmer 5 min.
- 4Final tadka: heat extra ghee, fry garlic slices and red chilies. Pour over dal. Garnish with cilantro.
