Indian Style Chana Masala (Street Style) — a healthy vegetarian halal recipe with 240 calories and 11g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 2 (15 oz) cans chickpeas, drained
- 1 large onion, 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp turmeric, 2 tsp chana masala powder, ½ tsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp oil, fresh cilantro, lemon wedges
Instructions
- 1Heat oil, add cumin seeds. Sauté onion until golden. Add ginger-garlic and tomato puree.
- 2Cook spices 5–6 min until oil separates.
- 3Add chickpeas and ½ cup water. Simmer 10–12 min. Mash a few chickpeas for thickness.
- 4Garnish with cilantro and lemon. Serve with bhature or rice.
