Indian Style Chana Dal with Spinach (Healthy) — a healthy vegetarian halal recipe with 240 calories and 13g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chana dal, rinsed
- 8 oz fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp coriander, ½ tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee, salt
Instructions
- 1Pressure cook chana dal with turmeric and salt until soft.
- 2Heat oil, sauté onion, ginger-garlic, tomatoes, and spices until oil separates.
- 3Add spinach and cook until wilted. Mix in cooked dal and simmer 8–10 min.
- 4Serve with rice or roti.
