Homemade Blueberry Lavender Lemonade — a healthy halal beverage with 90 calories and 2g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- Juice of 4-5 large lemons (about ¾ cup)
- 4-5 cups cold water
- 2-3 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp food-grade dried lavender buds
- Ice and fresh blueberries + lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- 1Gently heat 1 cup water with lavender and honey for 3-5 minutes (do not boil). Strain and cool.
- 2Blend blueberries with lemon juice until smooth, then strain if desired.
- 3Combine blueberry-lemon mixture with lavender water and remaining cold water. Stir, chill, and serve over ice.
