Ingredients
- ½ cup green or brown lentils
- ½ cup basmati rice
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp ghee or olive oil
- Fresh ginger, garlic, cilantro
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- 1Rinse lentils and rice together.
- 2Heat ghee, add cumin seeds, sliced onion, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until golden.
- 3Add tomato, turmeric, and salt. Stir in lentils and rice. Add 4 cups water.
- 4Pressure cook or simmer 20-25 minutes until soft and porridge-like. Finish with garam masala and cilantro.
