Baked Lebanese Spinach Fatayer — a healthy halal vegetarian recipe with 280 calories and 8g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh spinach, chopped and squeezed dry
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp sumac
- 1/4 cup pine nuts or walnuts (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper
- 1 lb pizza dough or homemade dough
Instructions
- 1Mix spinach, onion, sumac, nuts, oil, lemon, salt, and pepper for filling.
- 2Divide dough into 12-15 balls. Roll into circles, place spoonful of filling in center, fold into triangle shape pinching edges.
- 3Place on baking sheet. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden. Serve warm.
